 What was the reason and motivation for starting Moi? 

 MOI London was born out of our personal journey as best friends turned entrepreneurs. After leaving our corporate careers to focus on our families, we felt a burning desire to create a brand that would resonate with women like us, offering timeless and versatile fashion pieces. We wanted to prove that style and comfort could coexist, and that women didn't have to sacrifice one for the other. Our motivation came from a deep belief that every woman deserves to feel confident and empowered in their everyday lives, whether it's running errands or conquering the workplace. With MOI London, we aimed to inspire women to embrace their own unique style and prioritize their comfort without compromising on fashion.

What is your go-to everyday outfit to pair with your classic Mary-jane shoe?  

B:  I adore the concept of "less is more," but I always like to add a little twist with accessories to elevate my daily look. I love the versatility of a pair of well-fitted jeans, paired with a loose linen shirt. I'll always adorn myself with a colourful scarf, multiple rings on my fingers, and a vibrant clutch that adds a splash of colour to my overall look. This combination allows me to embrace my own unique style while showcasing the versatility and comfort that MOI London stands for. It's all about finding that perfect balance between classic elegance and personal expression, and with my classic Mary Jane shoes as the foundation, I'm able to create a daily outfit that embodies both.  

E: My go-to everyday outfit is quite basic and practical, especially since I have kids. I like to pair my classic Mary-Jane shoes with a black or dark blue pair of jeans. On top, I usually opt for an oversized white shirt or a simple white t-shirt. The beauty of this outfit is its versatility, allowing me to wear any colour of Mary-Jane shoes depending on my mood for the day. It's a comfortable and easy-to-wear ensemble that keeps me stylish while going about my daily activities.

 What do you believe is the secret to a good business partnership?  

The secret to a good business partnership, in our belief, lies in complementing each other rather than simply aligning in every aspect. As long-time best friends, we have a deep understanding of each other's strengths and weaknesses. Leveraging this knowledge, we have defined our roles within the company to ensure that each of us focuses on what we excel at. Despite our contrasting personalities, two things unite us: our passion for what we do and success and our ability to find humour even in the toughest times. These shared qualities enable us to navigate challenges and thrive together in our MOI London journey.

As a working mother how do you achieve that all elusive perfect work/life balance? 

B: As a working mother of two who lives abroad from family, I understand that achieving the perfect work-life balance is a continuous journey rather than a destination. Our business doesn't have set working hours or days off, and there are no other team members to delegate to or escalate tasks. However, I am fortunate to have my biggest supporters in my friends and family, especially my very supportive husband. They fill in when I can't be there, lend a hand when the load gets heavy, and cheer for our successes more than anyone else. While I don't have a secret solution for maintaining a crazy work-life balance, having a strong support system behind me makes all the difference. Their unwavering support and understanding help me navigate the challenges that come with being a working mother, and I'm grateful for their presence in my life.

E: Discovering true passion for what you do is the key to attaining a harmonious work-life balance. I kickstart my day by waking up early to efficiently organize tasks before my children wake up, ensuring that I can devote undivided attention to them until I drop them off at school. I prioritize their needs and am fortunate to have the unwavering support of my family and my husband; who is my biggest ally. The unwavering support from my loved ones and consciously setting boundaries between work and family time have played a vital role in attaining that elusive equilibrium. Although it is an ongoing journey, the fulfilment I derive from my work and the priority I place on my family render it all worthwhile.

 What is your favourite look from the By iris SS23 collection? 

B: Although I never considered myself a jumpsuit person, I became addicted to them after getting Sasha Jumpsuit IRISxLittleSpree collaboration. The cut of by IRIS jumpsuit is flawless, and the comfort is simply amazing. For this season, I am continuing the tradition and nominating the Andie Ruched Sleeve Jumpsuit as the best look from the By Iris SS23 collection. The shoulder details and the authentic look of the fabric was literally love at first sight! I can't wait to style it with our Orange Mary Janes at our Pop-up event on 9th June at IRIS Battersea Store.
